Welcome back to Term 2 Oak Class!
This term in English we will be studying "Can We Save The Tiger?"
It is a book about saving some of the world's most endangered species by Martin Jenkins. Our outcomes for writing will include a persuasive letter, a brochure, and a diary entry from the point of view of an animal.
In Maths, we will begin our fractions topic (including simplifying, finding equivalent and adding/subtraction)
and move on to statistics.
In History, we will continue to explore what life was like during the Tudor times. We will use primary and secondary sources to make deductions about what really happened to one of Henry VIII's wives, if Henry was a good king or a tyrant, and find out if we can believe all sources from the past.
In Geography, we continue to explore "Why population changes" and have a particular focus on climate change, it's causes and it's effects, and will be making posters explaining the factors that lead to it, and what we can do to help.
Homework will be the same this term as last. Children will be expected to take part in some Times Table Rockstars, Doodle, Spellings and Reading each week. How much of each will be considered when the homework is set. Please remember, you can always come and see us with any questions or extra help you might need with the work. We are also continuing to run our daily lunchtime Doodle Club to support all children across the school.
We look forward to seeing you all at Parents' Evening on the 11th November.
